Borana National Park

The park which was established in 2005 E.C is found in the southern part of the region. With an area of 3731 km2 it is found at a distance between 570Km and 770km from Finfinne on the road to Moyale. The park has five conservation blocks namely Yabello, Saarite, Dire Dida Soda, Danbala Dibayu and Gammedo mountain.

The  Park  is habitat for  large population of  Gravy’s and Burchell’s Zebra, Grant’s Gazelle, Cheetah, Leopard, Gerenuk, Bias Oryx, Greater Kudu and Lesser Kudu ostrich, gerenuk, gazelle, and other mammals. Prince RusPoli’s Turaco (Arero forest) are the endemic birds to Ethiopia.
